Jesus H. Christ, I am finally writing my first post. I tried having AI write something for me last night, but it felt like reading someone else’s thoughts, so I don’t understand why some people are freaking out about AI taking over the world when, apparently, it still can’t replicate genuine human thought or expression. Don’t get me wrong, I am not a hater. I actually support AI and use it a lot for work and life in general. They are getting better and better over time, but they are a work in progress. Still great tools, though. Like, in my case, I had substantial help from Claude figuring out how to build a website since I haven’t been exposed to self-hosted WordPress in a while, and I don’t want to pay another freelancer to build a site for me, haha. Setting up this blog took me longer than anticipated because my job, other responsibilities, and TikTok doomscrolling got in the way of my greatness. I still need to finalize a few things in the backend (and I might still break it a little lol), but at least I can get started posting now.
Spaceship
I want to mention that I tried a new domain registrar, Spaceship, cuz Gemini recommended it. It is technically not new, but new to me, first time using it. I just remembered I haven’t activated 2FA on it yet, so I had to pause writing to do that, haha. Anyway, I looked them up and found that Namecheap built Spaceship, and I wondered why they had to do it cuz Namecheap is already popular. So I asked Claude, and here’s the AI explanation:
Namecheap spent 20+ years building a registrar empire, then watched its own product get bloated, dated, and expensive — so instead of renovating the old house, they built a new one next door and called it Spaceship. It’s a classic “disrupt yourself before someone else does” move: same parent company, cleaner interface, lower renewal prices, and none of the legacy baggage. The catch? Namecheap was just acquired for $1.5 billion by a private equity firm, and if history is any guide, today’s refreshingly cheap registrar could quietly become tomorrow’s GoDaddy.
Hacked Hosting
Speaking of 2FA, I once again scrambled to activate it on Hostinger, haha. Sorry, I just woke up about 2 hours ago, and I haven’t eaten anything. Did you know Hostinger has been hacked before? I don’t know why I had the urge to throw back that unfortunate event, probably cuz in the back of my mind I am still haunted by the fact that I was one of the 14 Million Customers whose passwords and personal data have been leaked online. Not gonna lie, though, their platform is really easy to use, and hosting is really cheap, especially with the 48-month plan. So I still decided to use them despite their flawed past. And if my data has already been leaked, what am I supposed to do about it, punch a wall or something? You know who else got hacked? Yahoo, Facebook, LinkedIn, Equifax, MGM Resorts, GoDaddy, LastPass, Ticketmaster, and many more, even banks and government websites.
You know what, that’s a little over 500 words now. I am starting to get light-headed, gotta go and feed. Just wrote something quickly cuz I deleted all the dummy posts, and now my site is empty. I’ll get busy writing more soon.
